Three tunes that were left out from Memorable Melodies

When I made the short old school synth tunes for Memorable Melodies, I made them all in one night.

There are three tunes I left out from the game. I guess these were just experimental tunes to set me in the “composing” mood. I made today a YouTube video from those three tunes:

Try the free game to get a impression, how the tunes turned out to be, that were included in the game. Remember, there is a cheat in the game: By tapping top right corner of the screen during game play, all the mistakes are cleared.

The latest version of Memorable Melodies is 1.4.

As you can see from the ProTrekkr window in the video, I’ve been making an Air Wolf cover with ProTrekkr. If I ever get it finished, I will publish a blog post here, where you can here the result.

How I made it on Music Game Jam 2018

My contribution to Music Game Jam 2018 was very quickly made. There was 2 weeks time and later some more time was given, but I made my game practically in two days. My ranking on the jam was 78th / 99. The Plus-version was made even in shorter time.

Below is a video from Build a Tune Plus, which is my thank you for your comments and downloads:

I probably should start (or learn) to make again music.. The short ending music for the Plus-version is made recently. The downloads are available below:

I signed today the exe files with the OV code signing certificate.

My Thank You for comments and downloads on Music Game Jam 2018

I want thank for all the comments and downloads on Music Game Jam 2018 with Build a Tune Plus. The game consists not only one level, but three levels and an ending. 🙂 All music made by me.

The game can be downloaded from the Build a Tune page on itch.io.

On the same page there is the original Build a Tune.

Thank you!

My Contribution to Music Game Jam 2018

I participated in Music Game Jam 2018 on itch.io. My game is quickly made musical memory game. Find match to part of the tune you hear and build a tune…

I have used as in-game music my first PC tracker music module, that is in fact unfinished… To the title screen I made strange music background with ProTrekkr — sounds like old school C64 music! 🙂

Below is the video of my contribution:

I will probably be left to the bottom positions of the Jam with my game.. At least I participated and tried to to make something nice in retro spirit..

Where to get sound effects and music

Updated 18.6.2018

In my early times I’ve used FreeSFX for example in Ball Shooter. The sound effects and musics from FreeSFX can also be used in commercial software products. In the credits for the sound effects and musics FreeSFX must be mentioned as follows: http://www.freesfx.co.uk, when using their library.

One of the probably finest sites for free music and sound effects is Soundimage.org. There are simply amazing compositions for free, you only need to put attribution information to your product.

There are also many sites, that sell royalty free music and sound effects. Personally I like very much the music collection of Shockwave-Sound.com. There is also fine collection of sound effects at Shockwave-Sound. The customer service of Shockwave-Sound is also excellent. Remember to choose the right kind of a license when buying.

Also great site for music to YouTube videos!
